The Institute of Immersive Media (IIM), in partnership with Netflix, has launched a new training initiative with the aim to equip women working in the creative industries with skills that can be applied to the cutting-edge field of virtual production.
Virtual production is a technique that allows creatives to combine traditional, live-action filmmaking with digital technology, and can connect all parts of the production lifecycle.
The Women’s Virtual Production Training initiative will arm women in Europe currently working in the fields of cinematography, VFX, animation and beyond, with the tools to apply their expertise to virtual production; growing their skillsets, and expanding their knowledge. As an approach that is expanding rapidly, virtual production brings with it opportunities for the development of new skills and roles within the television and film production industry, where a disproportionately low number of women make up the workforce in Europe, as well as globally.
Apply to take part in the Women's Virtual Production Training. The application deadline is August 3rd.
